After many years of searching for the right affiliate program to market for I found a few good ones. While doing so I found some things to look out for as well. First they should be free. I would greatly warn you against any that ask YOU to pay them for helping market their product. That makes sense, right? When you find the free ones make sure you go over their policies thoroughly. Make sure you can and are willing to submit to them.
Many of them will want you to submit your website when requesting to sign up. It does not take long to put together a quick blog around the topic of the products you would like to sell. Even though it should not take long do make sure it is good quality. Make sure all fields are in place and add some great pictures that are related to your topic. You do not want to give them any reason to deny your membership.
I suggest starting with one affiliate. Pick the one that suits you best and stick with just that one for starters. There are affiliate program that deal solely with digital eBooks and then there are some that have tangible products. Some new marketer find it easier to start with the digital products. I have always had better luck with the tangible ones. This is your preference.
Make sure you also see how much commission they are offering. Some offer 50% while others start off at 4% working your way up to 12%. There are also services that offer monthly subscriptions. This will earn you a residual income because you will get commissions every month for as long as the customer stays with the company. Yes, that is the best one in my opinion.
